Alison Hammond's life off screen with younger boyfriend and 11st weight loss
Alison Hammond's off-screen life: boyfriend, home, weight loss

Alison Hammond has a packed schedule thanks to her television portfolio, presenting on This Morning and co-hosting the Great British Bake Off. She rose to fame in the early 2000s as a contestant on the third series of Big Brother, and her warm personality helped her build a career in entertainment. She has also taken on presenting duties for ITV's For the Love of Dogs.

Alison, 51, has offered insights into her life beyond the cameras over the years, revealing a sanctuary to relax between her demanding commitments.

Luxury London Home

Alison, a devoted Brummie, relocated to London two years ago, trading her cherished Birmingham for the capital after buying a luxury property there. She has kept most of her new residence private but has shared a glimpse of her expansive, landscaped garden with a patio area on Instagram.

The presenter said: "Feeling very emotional knowing that without all your support and love I wouldn't be looking at this view. This is my new garden I would draw as a child but never dreamed it would be a reality. Thank you."

She sold her Solihull property in 2024, with a source from Smart Homes telling Mail Online at the time: "[The house] nearly sold three times but never completed because of vendors' chains falling through. It has finally completed just shy of the new asking price of £700,000 and is now off the market. The celebrity owner is delighted."

Impressive Weight Loss

Alison has spoken candidly about her weight, having weighed 28 stone at her heaviest. She has since lost 11 stone, with exercise central to her transformation. She overhauled her lifestyle for health reasons and concentrates on eating "everything in moderation". Her mother, Maria, who had type 2 diabetes, was worried about her wellbeing, particularly after Alison discovered she was pre-diabetic.

She now begins each morning with a ginger shot before eating sausages, eggs and bacon with her son Aiden. Alison brought in personal trainer Ellis Gatfield five years ago, who devised a tailored fitness programme focusing on resistance training rather than lengthy cardio sessions. Ellis told Women's Health that Alison typically follows a 30-minute resistance circuit on Mondays and a 30-minute boxing session on Tuesdays. Wednesday is a rest day or a low-intensity walk, Thursday includes a 30-minute kettlebell circuit, and Fridays feature a 30-minute boxing session. Saturdays and Sundays are rest days, though she may incorporate a low-intensity walk.

Alison previously spoke about her decision not to use weight-loss injections. She told Good Housekeeping UK: "I think that, for people who need to use them, they're a good thing - but for me, as soon as I hear any scare story, I get frightened. So I haven't wanted to use them, but that's not to say I wouldn't in the future, and I certainly wouldn't look down on anyone who did."

Younger Boyfriend

Alison typically keeps her romantic life private, though she has made rare remarks about her partner. She has been in a relationship with model and massage therapist David Putman, 29, since 2023. David stands at 6ft 10, and Alison once acknowledged things are going "really, really, well".

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Alison said: "I've always had issues with my boyfriends, this one I don't. We get on really well. We love each other. I never have to worry and second guess how he feels about me. He's wonderful." She added they enjoy "lovely holidays" where they are "kissing a lot" and that she receives "a lot of massages" thanks to David's "healing hands".

The pair first met when Alison arranged a massage appointment with David, and an immediate connection formed. When news of their relationship emerged, Alison faced scrutiny over the age difference. Responding to comments, she told Good Housekeeping: "I can see how on paper you'd notice the age difference. Yes, I am 22 years older than he is. But if you saw us together, you'd understand. People have said to me, 'We get it now.'"

Alison was formerly in a relationship with Noureddine Boufaied, with whom she shares her son. Their engagement ended in 2014.
