Vogue Williams has expressed her astonishment at the behind-the-scenes reality of Gogglebox, after filming an episode that aired just a day later. The model and podcaster, who appears alongside her best friend Joanne McNally on the new series of Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox, shared her surprise on their podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me.
Rapid Turnaround Shocks Vogue
“I'm kind of taken aback by how quickly it just came out. We only filmed it yesterday and they were like, oh yeah, it's out on Friday. I was like… ‘pardon?’” Vogue said. She contrasted this with typical TV projects that take months or even years to air, adding, “We're so used to filming stuff, and it coming out maybe in a year's time or six months' time, eight months' time or potentially never if it's dog s***.”
Joanne's Dream Job
Comedian Joanne McNally described the gig as a dream job, noting that sitting on a sofa discussing television is ideal. “I've kind of dragged Vogue into my bed-rot life,” she joked, “but it's a job now, which is fantastic.” Joanne also teased that she finally found a role that keeps her hyperactive friend still.
Vogue's Love for Mundane TV
Vogue revealed her fascination with shows about ordinary activities, saying, “I'd love to do a show where you just go around and like you stay at a till in a supermarket and you just see what people have bought.” The pair also discussed Extreme Couponing, a TLC show about bargain hunters, which Vogue called “a load of s***e” but admitted she couldn't stop watching.
Baby Name Tease
Vogue, who is expecting her fourth child with husband Spencer Matthews this autumn, hinted at an unusual name for the baby. She warned, “I'm just going to warn everyone, the name we love is f****d, OK? It's mad.” Describing it as the “heaviest hitter” yet, she said they plan to give the baby a normal middle name as a backup. Joanne revealed she “flinched” upon first hearing the name.
Vogue, 40, already has children Theodore, Gigi, and Otto, and acknowledged her own unconventional name. She recalled Spencer's dad asking, “What’s her middle name? Would she mind going by that?” She joked about “bringing the Matthews family name down” with a “cheapo” name like Vogue. Joanne quipped that Vogue's looks help her carry the name, adding the new baby would need to be “at least an eight out of 10” to pull off the chosen name.
