Triple wedding drama throws EastEnders’ Priya into a frenzy

EastEnders’ Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy) is thrown into a frenzy next week as her lover Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) wedding to Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) looms, with three weddings on the horizon in Walford.

Priya and Max have been secretly having an affair for months, but last week she accepted a proposal from her old flame Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara). However, Priya is hiding a secret – she is pregnant and unsure whether Max or Ravi is the father.

Ravi pushes Priya to tell the kids

With the ‘who’s the daddy?’ storyline unfolding, next week sees Ravi pushing Priya to tell their children about their engagement. Unsure it’s still too early, Priya later joins Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) at The Albert, where they are planning Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Howie Danes’ (Delroy Atkinson) upcoming wedding.

Before long, Cindy bribes them into helping to plan her wedding too. A guilty Priya is suddenly overcome with nausea and steps outside, where she runs into Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine). Priya opens up to Penny about her pregnancy, unaware that Penny is hiding a huge paternity bombshell of her own, and swears her to secrecy.

Max steps in as Priya scolds Nugget

Later, Priya catches her son Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) dealing weed, and as she scolds him, Max steps in to support her, and it’s evident there is still a spark between him and Priya.

Soon after, Priya decides it’s time to tell the kids about her and Ravi’s engagement, but she’s thrown when Ravi starts pressing her about the mystery man she was seeing during their time apart.

Ravi’s suspicions spike

It doesn’t take long for Ravi to get a major clue when he witnesses a charged moment between Priya and Max, spiking his suspicions. Ravi then takes matters into his own hands as he becomes determined to prove his hunch, which likely spells danger for everyone involved.

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 31st August at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
