Strictly's Lewis Cope and Katya Jones in tense rehearsal exchange
Strictly duo's tense exchange during rehearsals revealed

Strictly Come Dancing favourites Lewis Cope and Katya Jones have been captured in what appeared to be a heated discussion during a break from their intensive rehearsal schedule.

Serious conversation outside the studio

The dancing partners, who are currently preparing their Rumba to Harry Styles' hit song Falling, were seen engaged in what onlookers described as a tense exchange during a pause from studio practice. An eyewitness claimed the conversation looked particularly serious as the pair took time away from their dance preparations.

Lewis, the Emmerdale actor, was observed sitting with his arms crossed while professional dancer Katya spoke to him intently. Both performers are known for their dedication to perfecting routines, suggesting the deep discussion likely centred around their upcoming performance on tonight's live show.

Rising stars with impressive credentials

The pair have emerged as strong contenders for this season's Glitterball Trophy, particularly after achieving a perfect score of 40 for their Charleston performance to I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor during last weekend's Blackpool special. Their spectacular routine at the iconic Blackpool Ballroom has positioned them as frontrunners in the competition.

Former Strictly professional James Jordan went so far as to hail their Blackpool performance as one of the greatest in Strictly history. Speaking to The Sun, Jordan expressed his belief that Lewis possesses more talent than some of the current professional male dancers on the show.

Revealing Lewis's dance background

Jordan revealed that Lewis performed approximately 80 percent of moves that male professionals couldn't execute, attributing this ability to his extensive dance training. The former Strictly star emphasised that Lewis's background as a member of street dance troupe Ruff Diamond in his late teens provided him with exceptional skills.

Lewis's dance crew previously reached the final of Sky's Got To Dance competition in 2013 and won multiple national dance championships. Jordan stated categorically: "He is a fully-trained dancer. You cannot go out there and do what he's doing unless you have loads of dance training."

The dance expert added that many of the flips and tricks Lewis performed were beyond the capability of most professional dancers on the programme, noting: "If I tried to do some of the stuff he was doing, I'd break my spine."

Lewis and Katya continue their quest for the Glitterball Trophy against remaining competitors including EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, former England footballer Karen Carney, Love Island winner Amber Davies, actress Alex Kingston and influencer George Clarke.
