Reality television favourite Scarlett Moffatt has been officially announced as the first celebrity contestant for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.
The 34-year-old star, best known for Gogglebox and winning I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, will be swapping her spot on the sofa for a turn on the famous dancefloor for the festive edition of the BBC show.
From the Sofa to the Spotlight
Scarlett broke the exciting news herself during an appearance on the spin-off show It Takes Two on Friday. She expressed her sheer delight at joining the Strictly Come Dancing family, even if just for the holiday episode.
"Strictly has always held a special place in my heart, so being part of the Christmas Special feels truly magical," Moffatt shared. She went on to describe the show as a unifying force that brings families together in front of the television, calling her participation a genuine personal and career highlight.
A Festive Challenge Awaits
The television personality also hinted at the physical challenge that lies ahead, joking that the intense training regime will likely "introduce me to a few muscles I didn't know I had." Despite the hard work to come, her enthusiasm was palpable.
"I can't wait to live my best life on that dancefloor," she added, signalling her intent to fully embrace the Strictly Come Dancing experience.
This festive special promises to bring a dose of sparkle and sequins to Christmas Day, with Moffatt leading the charge as the first confirmed famous face. Fans of the show can now look forward to further celebrity announcements in the run-up to the 2025 Christmas special.
