Scarlett Moffatt has been confirmed as the first celebrity contestant for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 2025. The announcement was made live on Strictly: It Takes Two on Friday 21 November, where Moffatt appeared as a guest on the show's Friday Panel.
The presenter and TV personality will be partnered with professional dancer Vito Coppola when she takes to the dancefloor this December. Moffatt first rose to fame on Gogglebox before winning I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, and has since hosted several shows including the BBC Sounds podcast Scarlett Moffatt Wants To Believe and the Channel 4 documentary Britain's Tourette's Mystery: Scarlett Moffatt Investigates.
Speaking about her involvement, Moffatt said: 'Strictly has always held a special place in my heart, so being part of the Christmas Special feels truly magical. It's the show that brings everyone together around the TV, and being part of that is a genuine personal and career highlight.'
The Christmas Special will feature six couples competing to be crowned Strictly Christmas Champion. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will host the festivities, with judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke providing feedback. The winner will be decided by the studio audience vote.
The next celebrity participant will be announced on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Scott Mills on Monday 24 November. The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Christmas.
