Love Island's Samie Elishi escorted off set during 2026 final
Samie Elishi escorted off Love Island 2026 final set

Former Love Island star Samie Elishi was escorted off set during the show's 2026 final, telling followers: "It all kind of took a turn for the worse."

The reality star, 26, was in Majorca alongside boyfriend and former Love Island star Tyrique Hyde, 27, who was appearing on the last episode of spin-off show Aftersun. Following two consecutive appearances on Love Island: All Stars, the second of which she won, Samie was back at the villa after Julia Majchrzak and Lorenzo Alessi were crowned winners of the latest series.

Escorted Away Without Explanation

In a new video posted on TikTok, Samie documented the day as she got ready to film her appearance on the Love Island spin-off series along with a host of others who made their name on the programme, but they were all surprised to be sent away from the villa without any explanation. She said: "We then got to set and we was all super excited. Maya [Jama, host] looked unreal as always. But then it all kind of took a turn for the worse because we got told that we weren't actually allowed to watch the show."

"Before anyone starts asking why in the comments - we don't know. There was no explanation, three of us did actually have seats in the audience but they just got taken away. Then we got escorted back to the holding villa."

Watching from a Phone

In the end, Samie managed to get a signal on her phone and she and the Islanders watched the final on there instead. She said: "God knows how I managed it but I got the show up on my phone, found a point with actually quite good signal and we all watched from the phone on a tripod. It wasn't quite how we expected to spend our evening but it is what it is."

Love Island's 2026 final aired on Monday 27 July, and Julia and Lorenzo went up against Jasmine Muller and Kavan Murphy for the title and it was the former who took home the crown. It came after Simba Kudyiwa and Angelista Gunda bagged a third place finish. The winners looked stunned after their name was called, but it was a well received decision from the live audience and former islanders alike, with Lorenzo being lofted up high by his villa pals.

Fan Reactions

Despite loud cheers from the crowd, not all fans online were impressed. One user on X fumed: "Such an awful love island uk finale. love island usa may have had awful production, people, and couples too but they went off with the final dates & the audience went off with crowning brinity the winners #loveislanduk #loveisland." Another added: "I already said what I said: the winners of love island uk this year are AWFUL. y’all just failed this season." And a third said: "the final is the worst episode of Love Island, it’s always boring, they need a to rethink it and maybe go down a big brother route."
