Ruby Wax Faces Backlash After Assuming Camp Leadership

I'm A Celebrity viewers have accused comedian Ruby Wax of letting power go to her head after she became the camp's new leader on Sunday. The 72-year-old replaced EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, who was removed from the position for breaking contraband rules by using smuggled butter in cooking.

Despite previously criticising Shona for taking her leadership role too seriously and crafting a crown from jungle materials, Ruby quickly followed suit. Fans declared the comedian "unbearable" after she constructed an elaborate veil and began strutting around camp in a manner similar to her predecessor.

Taking to social media platform X, viewers expressed their frustration with Ruby's sudden change in behaviour. One user commented: 'Ruby was unbearable now they've made her camp leader and she's worse than unbearable I can't stand her', while another noted: 'Ruby is so much worse than Shona with letting her being leader and it going to her head'.

Eddie Kadi's Emotional Exit From the Jungle

Later in the episode, fans were left devastated when comedian Eddie Kadi became the second contestant to be voted out of the jungle. The 42-year-old funnyman found himself in the bottom two alongside model Vogue Williams before hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced he had received the fewest votes.

Fans immediately expressed their disappointment with the decision, claiming Eddie was one of the most underrated campmates and that either Vogue or Kelly Brook should have been eliminated instead. Social media reactions included: 'Eddie was the most underrated Campmate Seems like such a lovely guy' and 'Eddie shouldn't have gone it should have been the Dullard Vogue'.

During his emotional exit interview, Eddie reflected on his jungle experience, telling the hosts: 'I feel like I've been in there a year, it's literally changed my life.' He added: 'Coming from Congo, where we have a massive rainforest, I feel like I've had a taste of what my grandparents experienced, and I realise now why they were so humble.'

Camp Tensions and Cooking Disasters

The episode began with Shona and Lisa's first morning as camp leader and deputy, both having enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep in the treehouse. Eddie had been appointed cooking duty by the new leaders and was responsible for preparing the morning rice.

Eddie admitted to fellow camper Tom about his nervousness regarding the new responsibility, explaining: 'I'm nervous, because I live by myself. When you're cooking for you, there's no one to judge.' His confidence initially seemed justified as he told the Bush Telegraph: 'Breakfast is going well, the rice is nearly done. Myself and Ruby have got this under control.'

However, disaster struck when Eddie left the rice cooking to take a shower. Kelly Brook immediately detected burning, telling the Bush Telegraph: 'He made the colossal error of putting the rice on and going for a shower. I watched him do it, I didn't wanna say anything because I can't get involved, I have a feeling this morning it's gonna be a little bit crispy!'

Additional tension emerged as Ruby Wax was caught whispering criticisms about Vogue Williams' fire-tending abilities, with Vogue directly confronting them: 'Are you two b****hing about me?' The burnt rice served for breakfast left everyone unimpressed, though Jack Osbourne attempted to lighten the mood by joking: 'It's Eddie's first race, so he's warming up to it.'

The dramatic episode highlighted the ongoing power struggles and interpersonal dynamics within the camp, setting the stage for further conflicts as the competition continues without Eddie Kadi and with Ruby Wax facing viewer criticism for her leadership style.
