Priya pregnant in EastEnders? Baby dad twist explained

Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) discovered she is pregnant in EastEnders after her affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood). The character, who has been sleeping with Max since June, initially booked a termination but reconsidered after supporting Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) during a medical emergency.

Priya, a car saleswoman, felt unwell all day before taking a pregnancy test. She confided in Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), who offered to accompany her to the termination appointment. However, after Penny was rushed to hospital with a blood clot, Priya changed her mind.

Ravi's proposal and the father question

Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) proposed to Priya earlier this month, and she accepted, hoping he is the father of her baby. The couple had been in a long-term relationship until Ravi ended it after his return to the Square, leading Priya to seek solace with Max.

It is possible Ravi is the father, as he and Priya slept together upon his return from a mental health facility in June. However, they broke up later that evening, and Priya slept with Max the same day. She has continued the affair with Max ever since.

Who plays Priya in EastEnders?

Priya is played by Sophie Khan Levy, who previously appeared in All Creatures Great and Small, The Sixth Commandment and Mammals. She made her Albert Square debut in 2023 when Priya and her on-screen daughter Avani (Aaliyah James) arrived, expanding Ravi's family unit.
