Paddy McGuinness has predicted that Maya Jama will win Celebrity Traitors, saying her personable nature would make it hard for fellow contestants to believe she could be a Traitor.
Speaking on his BBC Radio 2 programme, the presenter offered his predictions and reacted to the latest developments in the series. The current Traitors are Maya Jama, Hannah Fry and James Acaster, with Hannah having recently sparked suspicion among the Faithfuls following Richard E Grant's early departure.
Paddy's Bold Prediction
Having previously worked with the Love Island presenter, Paddy reckons she will eventually claim victory in the show. He said: "Folks, hot off the press, Maya Jama is going to win it. That's all I'm saying, I've worked with Maya loads of times over the years and she is so lovely that you'd genuinely go, 'It can't be her! It can't be her!' There you go, get down the bookies."
This evening, viewers will witness Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan and Ross Kemp undertaking a perilous game of hide-and-seek in an attempt to escape being murdered. Leigh-Anne Pinnock has also been chosen to participate in the challenge, though she is protected from murder courtesy of a special key, with the Traitors remaining oblivious to her immunity.
Frustration Over Challenge Choices
Responding to the episode, Paddy expressed frustration over the participants the Traitors had selected for the challenge. "How are they not, The Traitors, getting rid of Miranda [Hart] because Miranda is brilliant," he said on his show. "And I watched it the other night and I'm like, 'She absolutely knows!'"
"And you're like, they're putting the rest of them in the woods, Rob Beckett! I'd leave him in there [the Castle], he's no threat Rob, he's good as gold Miranda is the one," he added. Paddy also put forward James Blunt, Michael Sheen and Sebastian Croft as more deserving candidates for the challenge, calling them "the threats".
Faithfuls Stunned by Maya's Role
The Faithfuls who have been murdered or banished so far have been left stunned upon learning that Maya is a Traitor. Former Coronation Street actress Julie Hesmondhalgh recently spoke glowingly of the Love Island presenter, hailing her as "absolutely incredible".
She went on to say: "She's just such an incredible person and so kind, actually and warm. She's playing the game like a gooden. I don't like it when Traitors win, but I might even make an exception for Maya," she continued on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Richard made show history as the first contestant to be banished after openly confessing that he was a Traitor. Myha'la became the second to be banished, with Julie following shortly after. Amol Rajan was the first to be murdered, with Bella Ramsey coming next.
The Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
