Netflix's survival competition Outlast: The Jungle has crowned its winners, with Nikki Hru and Maddy Jones each taking home $500,000 after splitting the $1 million prize pot.
The Finale
The series dropped its first six episodes last week, leaving viewers waiting for the final two instalments, which premiered on June 17. The show follows 16 strangers dropped into the Panamanian jungle with only basic supplies. They must use their wits and outdoor skills to survive, but they can only win as a team, with all efforts going towards the $1 million prize.
The Winners
Nikki Hru and Maddy Jones, both members of Team Alpha, ultimately claimed victory. They cut Leiya Pillitteri from their group on the final night, ensuring they were the only two remaining. Leiya, 26, is a triathlete skilled in building shelters from bamboo, while Maddy, 28, grew up hunting and could field dress a deer by age eight.
Other Contestants
Almost half of the contestants left within the first six episodes. Final survivors included Sarah Awad, Abby Chu, Morgan Colburn, Braxton Fish, Pharaoh Gayles, Nikki Hru, Maddy Jones, Leiya Pillitteri, and Wes Saunders. Halle Cooley quit just 26 days in, calling it the hardest thing she ever did but also an incredible experience.
Outlast: The Jungle is streaming on Netflix.
