Celebrity Traitors stars Maya and Kenny win big before final
Maya and Kenny win big before Celebrity Traitors final

Regardless of tonight's result on Celebrity Traitors, some players had already come away with a huge win. Based on airtime alone, the last Traitors standing - Love Island presenter Maya Jama and boxer turned YouTuber 'King' Kenny Ojuederie - are now instantly recognisable to a far larger audience, thanks to the show's 15 million viewers.

Maya Jama's Rising Fame

Maya, who has Scottish-Swedish and Somalian heritage, grew up on a council estate in Bristol. The 32-year-old has been widely hailed by viewers for her extreme beauty yet down-to-earth attitude. She is already known to the ITV audience as host of the dating show Love Island and as a panellist on The Masked Singer.

But now she's gone back to her first love of acting - which served her extremely well as a Traitor - landing a role in the second series of Netflix comedy crime caper The Gentleman, which launched last month. She is expected to return for the third outing of the Guy Ritchie series, with her role as gangster's moll Aisha being expanded.

Celebrity Traitors only takes a couple of weeks to film, but during the run her earning power has soared, with one digital expert suggesting her glamorous but likeable girl-next-door persona will soon see her being offered deals worth £1 million.

Before stepping one foot inside Ardross Castle, near Inverness, she was best known as the former girlfriend of rapper Stormzy - but now her fame outstrips his. There were jokes made in the castle about how in thrall Kenny was to Maya, who is currently single, having split from Manchester City player Ruben Dias in May following an 18 month relationship.

Kenny's Mainstream Breakthrough

Beta Squad internet star King Kenny, 29, announced his retirement from boxing in May. He has more than 2 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, having started out aged just 16 posting fitness videos and pranks, and his estimated net worth is now £3 million.

As first a Faithful and then a Traitor Kenny proved himself to be both loyal and funny - his unhinged excitement when he discovered Maya was also in the turret was one of the show's funniest moments.

Rajan, 43, thinks the influencer will go far. "The Kenny I got to know is fiercely competitive, yes; but he's a sweet guy who knows that, being television, this is a popularity contest, not 12 rounds in the ring," he explained this week. "He's too smart to come across as nasty on television." So expect to see more of Kenny on mainstream TV very soon as booking agents rush to sign him for panel shows and other reality series.

Other Players Benefit

He and Maya are not the only players who will benefit from signing up to the show. There have been calls for Miranda Hart's self-titled BBC sitcom to make a return, so happy were people to see her back on TV again.

And having lasted nearly all the way to the end, Sharon Rooney - who calls herself the "Poundland Poirot" and is best known for her breakthrough role in My Mad Fat Diary - has landed herself a new plum part. She will appear in Channel 5 thriller An Impossible Way To Die, opposite former Hollyoaks star Emmett J. Scanlan.

The Celebrity Traitors semi-final drew in the highest peak audience of the series, with 10.7 million tuning in live on Thursday. The show has been a ratings winner from the off, with 7-day catch up figures already showing ratings that beat the 15.4 million who watched Alan Carr win the celebrity version a year ago.
