Married at First Sight UK participant Leisha Lightbody has broken show protocol by revealing intimate details about her split from Reiss Boyce and sharing secret scenes that never made it to air during the E4 dating experiment.
The Unexpected Breakup
Leisha Lightbody has opened up about the shocking moment Reiss Boyce ended their relationship just weeks after filming emotional final vows where both had chosen to continue their romance outside the experiment. The 31-year-old Scottish beauty admits she believed they were in a "fairytale" when they left the show, only to discover her husband's feelings weren't as strong as she had assumed.
The couple's whirlwind romance faced numerous challenges during their time on the E4 reality show, with Reiss frequently expressing concerns about "drama" in their marriage. Despite Leisha declaring her love for him during their final date, she consistently felt uncertain about his true feelings toward her.
Unaired Intimate Moments Revealed
In an exclusive revelation, Leisha shared that their off-camera relationship was far more intimate than viewers saw. "We were very intimate every single night," she disclosed, describing how they would often stay in their apartment while other couples went out, cosied up watching documentaries with snacks.
Leisha cooked for Reiss every evening and they maintained a highly physical relationship, which she believes created mixed messages. "When you're intimate with people every single day and you're spooning them and very tactile, I think that's kind of giving mixed messages," she explained, noting that Reiss would then describe her as "too much" when she sought emotional reassurance.
The Final Breakdown
The relationship began to unravel after they left the experiment when Reiss's ex-girlfriend started liking Leisha's social media photos, despite the show not yet airing. Though Reiss reassured her there was nothing happening between them, Leisha's friends and family remained sceptical.
The final blow came when Reiss visited Leisha in Scotland and joined her for a meal with her parents, sister, and friends. "They were all like 'oh my God we actually think he likes you' and 'I can see it's working now'," Leisha recalled, "but then that night he split up with me."
Leisha believes Reiss may never have been emotionally available during their relationship and wishes he had been clearer about his feelings so she could have protected herself. "I think he was probably just done before he finished it but I don't think he was ever really in it," she concluded.
The pair faced each other again weeks later when filming the MAFS UK reunion show, which Leisha described as "a bit of a disaster" because she felt "so emotional and drained." Though she admits part of her hoped they might rekindle their romance, she's now completely over Reiss but remains upset about how things ended.
