MAFS UK's Amy Christopher Finds Love Again with 'Hunky' Boyfriend Darren
MAFS UK's Amy Christopher reveals new boyfriend Darren

Former Married At First Sight UK contestant Amy Christopher has joyfully announced she has found love again, introducing her new boyfriend to the world in a heartfelt festive post.

A Festive 'Hard Launch' for New Love

Amy, a sports journalist who appeared on the E4 dating experiment in 2021, shared a series of loved-up selfies with her partner, Darren. She captioned the Christmas-themed reveal 'The HARD launch', sweetly adding 'It was always you.'

The couple have a significant shared history, with Amy explaining they have known each other for over 23 years. 'The stars have finally aligned,' she wrote, reflecting on their long journey to becoming a couple.

A Romantic Proposal Among Rose Petals

Amy also gave her followers a glimpse into the romantic moment Darren asked her to be his girlfriend. During a getaway, he laid out a trail of messages using rose petals, which guided her to their hotel bedroom.

There, the final question was spelled out in petals, creating a picture-perfect and memorable proposal. The post was quickly flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and followers, celebrating her newfound happiness.

Moving On from a 'Toxic' MAFS Split

This new chapter comes years after Amy's difficult and very public split from her MAFS UK 'groom' Joshua Christie. Their televised marriage did not last beyond the experiment.

During the show's reunion, Amy stated the relationship ended due to Joshua's 'lack of effort' and his inability to give a 'real reason' for their breakup, which left her heartbroken at the time.

In the aftermath of the show, Amy, who works as a sports presenter for outlets including Sky Sports, revealed the experience had a profound impact on her professional life. She told The Mirror that participating 'ruined her life' temporarily as work opportunities 'dried up'.

'I ended up taking two years out of my life, and that obviously affected my sports career as well,' she admitted, noting she hadn't anticipated the show's huge fame. Fortunately, she has since managed to return to her sports journalism career.
