The conflict, which began during the experiment's tense dinner parties, spilled over onto social media long after the cameras stopped rolling. The drama escalated when Maeve left a telling comment on a post by their co-star, Nelly P.

The hostility stems from revelations during the show that Julia-Ruth had become involved with two other husbands from the experiment. The most painful revelation for Maeve was learning that Julia-Ruth had a surprise holiday with her ex-partner, Joe Wood.
During this getaway, the pair even got matching "Why not?" tattoos, a detail that only came to light after the series wrapped during a two-part reunion special. Maeve's heart was broken by the betrayal, and she has made no secret of her disdain for Julia-Ruth since.
