MAFS UK Secret Tattoos: Davide & Keye's Otter Ink Revealed
MAFS UK: Davide & Keye's Secret Matching Tattoos

The tenth season of Married At First Sight UK may have concluded, but explosive behind-the-scenes secrets continue to surface, revealing that more cast members than previously known cemented their bonds with permanent ink.

More Than Just 'Why Not?'

While the reunion special shocked viewers with the revelation that Julia-Ruth and Joe got a matching 'Why not?' tattoo on a post-experiment holiday, it has now emerged they were not the only ones. In an exclusive chat, groom Davide Anica confirmed that he and his on-screen match, Keye, also got matching tattoos that were never broadcast.

Davide revealed the pair opted for a sweet and significant design: matching otter tattoos. The otter was a powerful symbol for their relationship, stemming from an early zoo date where Keye surprised Davide by arranging an otter feeding session, knowing they were his favourite animal.

The Significance of the Otter

The otter motif continued to be a central part of their story. Later in the series, Keye gifted Davide an otter adoption pack, rescuing two animals named Hughie and Otis. This touching gesture came with a stuffed otter toy that became a familiar sight for viewers in subsequent episodes.

"It was a really special experience for us to feed the otters together so what a way to end the final date than with adopting two otters," Keye said at the time. The matching tattoos served as a permanent, albeit private, reminder of this bond.

Post-Show Realities and The Last Couple Standing

Despite this seemingly strong connection and making it to the end of the experiment, Davide and Keye announced five months after the series concluded that they had separated. Their split was part of a wave of break-ups from the season's couples, including fan favourites Rebecca and Bailey.

This leaves just one couple from the series still together: Abi and John. Abi recently confirmed their ongoing relationship while celebrating her birthday, writing on social media: "Turns out marrying a stranger was the best birthday plot twist. My first birthday as a wife and honestly the happiest one yet."

Meanwhile, Julia-Ruth publicly owned her matching tattoo with Joe, posting a lengthy statement and a picture of the leg ink. She listed her reasons for the 'Why not?' mantra, which included "why not apply for MAFS UK" and "why not hope you find love." Joe, who left the experiment early, has remained silent on the matter.
