Reality television personality Michael Goonan, best known for his appearance on Married At First Sight, has announced his engagement to his partner Maddy. The 34-year-old shared the joyful news on social media on Monday night, posting a heartfelt video of the proposal moment.

The precious footage captures Michael leading Maddy towards a rustic wooden shed on a farm as the golden light of the setting sun enveloped the scene. When the shed door creaked open, it revealed an interior beautifully decorated with elegant red roses and a large sign bearing the words 'Marry Me'.
Overcome with emotion, Michael immediately dropped to one knee, presenting a sparkling engagement ring and asking the life-changing question. A delighted Maddy happily accepted, her joy evident. Another photograph showed the newly engaged couple sharing a warm embrace, basking in their happy news.

Michael was originally paired with Stacey Hampton on Series 7 of MAFS in 2020, though their relationship did not last beyond the experiment. Following the show, he began dating his MAFS co-star KC Osborne.
In 2021, Michael revealed during an Instagram Q&A that he had 'made peace' with KC Osborne after they filmed Celebrity Ex on the Beach together in Colombia. He described their relationship as more 'mature' compared to his dynamic with Stacey, noting: 'When it comes to feelings and that, Stacey and I would just fight for days on end.'
Michael had publicly asked Stacey if she was willing to put their differences aside, but according to sources, the mother of two declined to participate in the series, prioritising her children and her new clothing label in Adelaide.
