Married At First Sight Australia producers have scrapped all footage of a 2026 couple, bride Ankita Karungalekar and groom Micah Lomu, after they had already filmed their wedding and honeymoon. The decision to remove them from the series was made following rumours on TikTok alleging Micah had been violent towards an ex-partner, which he denies.
Ankita shared her experience on Instagram, posting unseen clips of the wedding and honeymoon, and wrote: 'In your 20s, you'll marry a stranger on a TV show and not even get aired but it's important to take that opportunity cause at least your parents will never force an arranged marriage ever again.' She described the producers as 'ruthless' for cutting them with little explanation.
Micah told Daily Mail Australia: 'It was an allegation that had no proof. They told me it was in my best interest to be dismissed from the show for my mental health. But by doing that, they practically gave validation that I’d done something wrong.' He added that he had passed all psychological checks and background vetting.
Ankita stood by Micah, saying she did not believe the allegations, and criticised Channel Nine for making 'such a huge decision based on TikTok videos without receipts.' The couple said they were blindsided by the network's decision to remove them from the experiment.
