Married At First Sight groom Danny Hewitt has spoken out about the moment bride Bec Zacharia declared her love for him, admitting he was caught off guard. The 34-year-old told Daily Mail that Bec's confession came without warning, despite their romantic weekend away appearing to strengthen their relationship.
“Normally when a girl tells you they love you, they give you like breadcrumbs beforehand,” Danny said. “Bec didn't give me any breadcrumbs. She didn't allude to it. She didn't give me hints. Then it just came out of nowhere.” While Bec seemed ready to take the next step, Danny confessed he wasn't there yet, adding, “You can't force love. You're either going to love someone or you're not.”
Danny also addressed the ongoing tension with rival bride Gia Fleur, revealing that producers have repeatedly tried to arrange a face-to-face meeting, but Gia has not shown up. “Every time they try and do it, I show up and Gia doesn't,” he said. “If that's not the sign of a guilty person, I don't know what is.” Despite the feud, Danny insisted he has moved on, stating, “I've buried the hatchet with Gia. I don't hold grudges. I wish her all the best.”
He also commented on Gia's relationship with husband Scott, praising Scott for taking Gia's daughter into his life. However, Danny hinted that a confrontation would have been blunt, saying, “We would've been ruthless with each other because she's not my biggest fan and I'm not her biggest fan.”
