Stella Mickunaite, a bride from Married at First Sight Australia Season 13, has confirmed that her fiancé Filip Gregov ended their engagement via a phone call, leaving her feeling blindsided and embarrassed. The couple, who got engaged during the Final Vows ceremony eight months ago, have now split.
Stella speaks out on Instagram
In a lengthy statement shared on her Instagram story, the 32-year-old revealed that the phone call caught her off guard. 'I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but I feel it’s important to share my truth,' she began.
'Filip ended our relationship. While he had clearly been processing that decision for some time, I genuinely believed we were working towards the same future. I was completely blindsided,' she added.
Plans to move to Melbourne
Stella, who was based in Sydney during the show, had planned to relocate to Melbourne for Filip. She explained that she needed a few months to pack up her life and business. 'As our relationship grew, I believed moving to Melbourne made the most sense for us. It offered more family support, better work opportunities for Filip and a more affordable place for us to build a life together,' she said.
She also clarified that, despite what was shown on the show, she had made the decision to move. 'I own a business that I’ve spent years building, so it wasn’t as simple as packing a suitcase.'
Embarrassment and heartbreak
The MAFS bride admitted she believed their relationship was heading towards starting a family before the call. 'Instead, I received a phone call ending our relationship. I am heartbroken, deeply saddened and, if I’m honest, incredibly embarrassed that something I believed in so wholeheartedly didn’t work out the way I had hoped,' she stated.
'While I respect that everyone has the right to choose what’s best for them, I also feel it’s important that the facts are clear,' she concluded.

Stella and Filip were the last standing couple from Season 13 of Married at First Sight Australia. Filip had stunned fans by proposing during the Final Vows ceremony, asking his TV wife to marry him for real. The show is currently streaming on Channel 4 OD.
