Controversial Married At First Sight Australia participants Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice have officially married in a real-life ceremony, despite never being paired on the show. The couple, who met after their respective stints on the programme, exchanged vows on 20 April 2026 at a scenic location overlooking Lake Wakatipu on New Zealand's South Island.
From Reality TV to Real Life
Jacqui Burfoot originally appeared on the previous series of MAFS Australia, where she was matched with Ryan Donnelly. After a turbulent relationship, the pair ended things during a heated final vows episode. Meanwhile, Clint Rice had been matched with Lauren Hall on the same series. Following their departures, Jacqui and Clint connected and began dating in November 2024.
Jacqui announced their relationship on Instagram, writing: "Surprise! Yes we are officially together!! Here are snippets of what you missed over the past 5 months before mafs aired!" She added: "We had our first date in November 2024 and I never left Tassie - we have been travelling around NZ and in Tassie in between filming and airing!"

The couple announced their engagement in April 2025 during a private screening of their reunion episode, where Clint proposed on one knee. Now, they have shared joyful wedding photos on Instagram, captioned: "Married, 20 April 2026 [heart emoji]."

A third commented: "Huge congratulations Mr and Mrs Rice. Many blessings as you both walk into the sunset, holding hands and shining with your love for each other."
