Former Love Island contestant George Rains has tied the knot and publicly celebrated his new wife, Serena, on her birthday, marking a significant shift from his previously private romance.
A Private Romance Goes Public
The 29-year-old reality TV star and personal trainer proudly shared intimate Instagram pictures to wish his wife a happy birthday. In the snaps, George beamed as the proud husband, showcasing sweet moments with his new bride. While the exact date of their wedding remains a mystery, it is confirmed that the happy couple are now settled and living together in Australia.
Serena, who appears to work in an office, had previously offered clues about their union. In August, she posted professional-looking photographs of herself with George. She has since updated her Facebook status to 'married' and taken his surname, now going by @serenarains on Instagram.
Leaving Love Island Drama Behind
George first found fame on the fifth series of ITV's Love Island in 2019, where he was initially paired with surfer Lucie Rose Donlan. His time in the villa, however, was not without controversy. He faced claims that he was secretly dating Instagram model Nicole Tamerian while also pursuing a romance with fellow islander Yewande Biala.
These allegations were fuelled by comments from that season's winner, Amber Gill, who liked a cryptic tweet from a fan accusing George of using Yewande for fame. A source at the time claimed George was "desperate to stay in the limelight" after his brief stint on the show and had "no feelings for Yewande." Nicole Tamerian later stated to the Daily Mail that George had told her he was only friends with Yewande, describing their own encounter as a single kiss at a private event.
A New Chapter Down Under
Today, George seems to have fully moved on from the dramatic heyday of his Love Island experience. Reports suggest he now has barely any contact with his former fellow islanders. His social media reveals a life focused on his personal training career and his new marriage in Australia, far removed from the villa gossip.
Representatives for both George Rains and Yewande Biala declined to comment on the past allegations when approached by the Daily Mail. The focus now remains firmly on George and Serena's future as they embark on their married life together.
