Love Island 2026 winners Julia and Lorenzo have broken their silence over online speculation that their relationship is already over, addressing the rumours in their first TV interview as a couple on This Morning.
It has been exactly one week since the ITV finale of the 13th series aired live from the villa, following eight weeks featuring more than 30 contestants, dramatic plot twists and romantic entanglements. Julia and Lorenzo won the public vote, with Jasmine and Kavan finishing as runners-up and Angelista and Simba taking third place.
Winners address split rumours
All of the finalists appeared on Monday's This Morning (August 3), hosted by comedian and Take Me Out presenter Paddy McGuinness alongside former Big Brother housemate Josie Gibson. It marked the first time Julia and Lorenzo had spoken publicly since their win, with fans noting they were the only finalists to stay largely quiet on social media.
Asked what it felt like to be crowned winners, Lorenzo said: "It's just nuts. It's the biggest compliment I think to have gone in there and been ourselves. It's just crazy it's come to an end." He added: "I don't think it's really sunk in. It was the best feeling ever, we've had the best time. I watched the first episode and thought it was fun."
Josie Gibson then directly put the split speculation to the couple, asking whether there was any substance to the claims. Lorenzo responded: "As we've left the villa we're still in the same place." He continued: "We're exclusively dating. Honestly it's been a crazy few days and everything just needs to settle down and we're going to go on some lovely dates."
He also dismissed suggestions that they had not yet declared their love for each other, unlike Jasmine and Kavan, saying: "It's going that way. Feelings are developing. Everything is going in the right direction."
Julia demands a date
When Julia was asked for her perspective, she sparked a reaction by tentatively starting: "Erm." She revealed that the pair had spent time apart since the final night and that she was still waiting for their first proper date in the real world.
She challenged Lorenzo directly: "Where are the dates? When was the last time we saw each other?" A fidgety, chuckling Lorenzo said he was arranging an evening at a rooftop bar, prompting Julia to swiftly ask: "When? It's been five days!"
Lorenzo justified the delay by explaining that he had been reconnecting with family and close friends, having not seen them for 10 weeks.
Plans for the prize money
Asked about their plans for the winnings, Lorenzo joked: "We're going to have a £50,000 date." The couple then revealed they actually plan to treat themselves to a watch and a "nice pair of heels" as mementos of their experience, as well as using the money to spoil friends and family.
