Love Is Blind UK star Katisha has opened up about her decision to leave the experiment early, blaming her former fiancé Javen’s behaviour for the breakdown of their engagement. Speaking exclusively to Reach Screen Time, she said she felt fully justified in walking away after learning of his flirtatious conduct during a cast mixer.
Katisha revealed that Megan’s warning prompted her exit, explaining: “I was leaving the experiment because the whole point of the experiment was to get married. We weren’t dating, we were engaged and we were engaged to be married; we were planning a wedding.” She admitted that watching the episodes back was difficult, but the final scenes “reaffirmed” that she had made the right choice.
The reunion episode, aired on Netflix, showed tensions among several couples, with only one remaining together. Katisha also addressed Javen’s remarks directed at Sophie during the mixer, saying: “Watching the mixer I was like, ‘Nah, surely not!’ It was disappointing because it brought up a lot of things that I had put to the side and kind of squashed and ignored.”
Although the pair are still on speaking terms, Katisha said Javen tends to “dance around the whole thing” and fails to take accountability. She added: “We were engaged to be married and he was treating it like a relationship… sadly that’s not the case; it was because of the behaviour.”
Javen has since defended his actions, describing himself as a “friendly person”, but offered an apology during the reunion, which Katisha accepted. Love Is Blind UK season 2 is available to stream now on Netflix.
