Liam Gallagher has revealed he was offered a place on the Celebrity Traitors cast but turned it down. Responding to a fan post on X suggesting he should appear, the Oasis frontman wrote: "I've been asked, it's not my thing. I'm not a celebrity."
BBC declines to comment
The BBC declined to comment when approached. The show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, sees famous faces compete to identify the Traitors among them and win £100,000 for charity.
The second season of the celebrity version began last Thursday (October 1), with its premiere becoming the most-watched debut episode of any series of the programme in the UK, averaging 8.9 million viewers.
Current cast and recent twists
The current series features stars including Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Richard E. Grant, James Blunt, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett. Also in the cast are James Acaster, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Miranda Hart, King Kenny, Hannah Fry, Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsay, Jerry Hall, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Myha'la, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
In the second episode, Rajan was murdered by Traitors Jama and Grant, while Acaster was recruited as a third Traitor. The episode ended on a cliff-hanger after Grant came under scrutiny during the first roundtable meeting.
Viewer speculation
Some viewers believe they have worked out a potential key player, with speculation sparked by the first episode's screen time. Author Michelle Elman posted on TikTok: "You can tell via the airtime who we're being told to root for, who's going to make it to the end." She added that Sharon Rooney "really stood out" and has appeared relatable and appealing so far.
Celebrity Traitors continues on Thursday (October 8) at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
