Liam Gallagher turned down Celebrity Traitors: 'It's not my thing'
Liam Gallagher rejected Celebrity Traitors - 'not my thing'

Liam Gallagher has confirmed he was approached but declined to be part of Celebrity Traitors. Claudia Winkleman's BBC show is a huge hit with viewers and attracted a raft of famous names who might not normally do a reality TV game show like Jerry Hall, Richard E Grant and James Blunt.

The Oasis legend has been asked to take part on a couple of occasions but admits he turned down Traitors, confirming this week: “I’ve been asked; it’s not my thing. I’m not a celebrity”.

Previous offers revealed

It's not the first time Liam has revealed he's had offers, as last year he told a fan "I've been asked" in relation to going in the famous Scottish castle, and then repeated the response to another follower later: "I got asked. I don't do celebrity".

Many believe Gallagher would make great television with his unfiltered 'Biblical' chat, although others expressed concern his personality might not work on the show's format.

Reality TV fan

However, Liam is a big fan of reality telly like The Great British Bake Off and particularly Love Island, which he famously became obsessed with. In fact, a few years back during interviews at Glastonbury Festival, he admitted he stayed in his room to watch it instead of checking out other bands.

He admitted the show wasn't exactly taxing: "I’m just into the fact that it’s s***. It’s just stupid. I’m not getting anything out of it... it's just on."

Liam also blamed his partner, Debbie Gwyther, for hogging the TV remote.

US trash telly and Liverpool spat

There might be more of chance of Liam going on The American Traitors as he likes a bit of US trash telly. He has previously admitted watching Judge Judy and Montel Williams, calling them "that s*** we love."

Manchester City fan Liam has faced a bit of flak since the club were found guilty of 114 offences, especially from Liverpool fans. However, he defended not only the club but his band's legacy of sounding like Liverpool heroes The Beatles.

Liam wrote: "All these Scousers giving me and my band s*** OASIS have done more for the city of Liverpool than they will ever do. OASIS put the BEATLES back on the map which they no doubt directly profit from UNGRATEFUL little SODS MCFC LG x"
