Lala Kent's Hawaiian Holiday 'Nightmare' as Kids Act Up on Flight
Lala Kent's 'Nightmare' Family Holiday to Hawaii

Reality television personality Lala Kent has described her recent family holiday to Hawaii as a complete 'nightmare', despite the idyllic destination. The 34-year-old star, soon to appear on Brittany Cartwright's new series The Valley, faced travel chaos with her two young children on the journey to the islands.

Flight Fiasco and a Calmer Return

Kent, who shares four-year-old daughter Ocean with ex-partner Randall Emmett and 11-month-old Sosa via a sperm donor, said the children's behaviour made the outbound flight particularly difficult. However, the return leg to the United States proved to be a much smoother experience.

Sharing an update on her Instagram Stories late on Sunday night, she wrote: 'Finally home in bed. My kids were so good on the plane. I was terrified because going to Hawaii was a nightmare.'

She added details about the journey, noting: 'Sosa is asleep - she stayed up the whole flight. This one on the other hand was knocked out... now she's wired. Wish me luck.' Kent finished by humourously contrasting the glamorous photos with the reality of motherhood, stating they would take pictures to remind themselves 'we still got it' before returning to the constant calls of 'mom. Mom. MOM!'

Overcoming Past Turmoil and Future Family Plans

The holiday revelation comes after a period of significant personal struggle for Kent. Earlier this year, she disclosed that her tumultuous 2021 split from ex-fiancé Emmett, 53, had a severe impact on her health, causing her weight to drop to just 90 pounds.

Speaking on Cartwright's When Reality Hits podcast, Kent reflected: 'Brittany, you remember, I was down to, like, 90 pounds. I couldn't eat. I was not well. That was the most horrendous time of my life.' She admitted that even now, nearly four years on, she sometimes has to consciously remind herself that difficult chapter is over.

Looking forward, Kent is focused on expanding her family. In October, she expressed her hope to become pregnant again within the next 12 months, and has previously stated she would love to have 'five more babies.'

She told Parents magazine: 'I feel like we sunk right into this new dynamic. It is so fulfilling and it's difficult, but we're a well-oiled machine. And I just don't think I'm done.' Kent believes a two-year age gap would be ideal, noting Sosa would be two if her plan succeeds.

A Thriving Family Dynamic

Despite the flight challenges, Kent reports a positive and thriving family life at home. She observed that Sosa's arrival has brought out a 'different level of confidence' in her big sister Ocean.

'She's really taken on the role of being a big sister,' Kent explained. 'Ocean is only four, but she's always seemed like an old soul... When Sosa came into the mix, it just gave Ocean a different level of confidence. She really enjoys helping me out.'

She also addressed concerns about the impact of her acrimonious split from Emmett on Ocean, insisting her daughter is now 'happy, healthy, and thriving.' Kent said the routine of moving between parents' homes has become a normal part of life for Ocean, who has just successfully finished her first year of preschool.
