Reality TV matriarch Kris Jenner treated her followers to a festive trip down memory lane this week, sharing a series of nostalgic Christmas photos from her family archive. The post, however, sparked more than just holiday cheer, blending glamorous – and somewhat risqué – throwback images with a poignant family revelation about a spiritual connection spanning generations.
Flashback Fashion & Festive Glamour
On Wednesday morning, the 70-year-old 'momager' took to Instagram, posting several snapshots from Christmases past. The collection featured adorable pictures of her children as toddlers and scenes from her legendary Christmas Eve parties. Yet, it was two particularly bold images that captured significant attention.
One photo, dated to the 1980s, showed a younger Jenner in the dining room of a former home, wearing a low-cut hot pink top. Another striking image depicted Jenner modelling strappy red heels before a brick fireplace, clad in a daring red sequined dress with a high leg slit. "Merry Christmas everyone!" Jenner wrote in her caption, to which her daughter Khloe Kardashian replied affectionately, "Merry Christmas Eve, mommy! You are the cutest girl in the entire world."
A Grandson's 'Extraordinary' Connection
The festive post follows an emotionally charged revelation Jenner recently shared about her family. She disclosed that her three-year-old grandson, Tatum Thompson, shares a unique and profound bond with her late husband, Robert Kardashian, despite never having met him.
Robert Kardashian, the attorney and businessman, died from oesophageal cancer in September 2003 at age 59, just two months after his diagnosis. Tatum, the son of Khloe Kardashian and her ex-partner Tristan Thompson, was born 19 years after Robert's passing.
The topic arose during a ghost-hunting segment on the latest episode of The Kardashians, filmed in Kylie Jenner's home. Khloe recounted how Tatum spontaneously began using the term "honey" to address Kris – a pet name Robert exclusively used for her during their marriage from 1978 to 1991.
"Tatum calls her honey, and no one has ever told him to call her honey," Khloe explained. Kris, visibly moved, confirmed the significance: "That's what Robert used to call me."
A Spiritual Conversation
Kris elaborated on the incident in a confessional, sharing the details of Tatum's alleged conversation. "He described [Robert] and said he's really funny and that he was crying," Jenner recalled. "And I go, 'Your grandpa was crying? Why was he crying?' And Tatum goes, 'Because he loves you,' and he points to my face."
Jenner, who also shares daughters Kourtney, Kim, and son Rob with Robert, expressed her awe at the situation. "You have a three year old telling you about his conversations with his grandfather, who he's never met. It's extraordinary," she said. "And then, he says goodnight to his grandfather sometimes, like he's right in the room. He can see him, but nobody else can."
This is not the first time Khloe has noted similarities between her son and her late father. In a February episode, she remarked, "I swear he's my dad. It's so interesting," highlighting the uncanny resemblance in behaviour and now, seemingly, in spirit.
