At the end of the day, Emmerdale's Kim Tate (Claire King) is literally just a girl. She has loads of money, a massive house, and has created cunning schemes that have proved she isn't someone to be messed with. But when she's standing in front of the man she fancies, the cold demeanour crumbles. So real, honestly.
Kim and Graham's Truce
Kim and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) agreed to end their feud a few weeks ago, when Graham told Kim that he was responsible for putting her in hospital. At the time, Kim believed that she had accidentally taken too many painkillers, but Graham had actually switched the bottle to one that included double dosage pills. The duo decided that because they had now both had a turn at trying to kill each other, they should call a truce.
Graham's Bond with Kyle
Over the past few days, Graham has spent a lot of time with Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) after working out that the young lad was responsible for the barn fires on Emmerdale Farm. Instead of telling Kyle's parents, Graham chose to try and help the young lad, recognising that he was setting fire to things because he felt angry at the world for putting his family through so much this year. Graham has supported Kyle and even signed him up to the cadets. In this evening's episode, he found Kyle in the cafe and gifted him a watch that once belonged to him. Kyle was touched and also surprised. Even though Graham lives at Home Farm and is surrounded by a lot of people, it's clear he is quite a lonely soul, and looking out for Kyle seems to make that feeling less intense.
Andrew Scarborough on Graham's Motivations
'I think Graham is mourning the backstory of him, which is that he wanted a family when he was younger, but he blew that completely,' star Andrew Scarborough previously said. 'So, he's mourning that the whole time, hence the reason for the suit. He wears a red tie because I wanted to tell costume when I came back that he's been to hell and back, and that's his reminder that he's been to hell. And he does have one suit because he has OCD and PTSD. That's his coping mechanism. You'll find in the wardrobe that he has twenty suits all like that. And he dresses because he has his own business, he's a mercenary, so he does his own fixing, does his own jobs outside. So when he comes back in, he wants to be the fixer for Joe.'
Andrew added: 'I think it's family craving. The Tates, as dysfunctional as it is, is a family, so he wants to be back there as well. He's drawn to people to try and help them. Leo especially. He had a great relationship with Leo. I think he's craving family.'
Kim Finds Graham's Kindness 'Sexy'
After spending time with Kyle, Graham arrived back at Home Farm and briefly told Kim about the boy. Kim recognises that beneath Graham's suit, and the impression he gives of being a modern-day version of Lurch from The Addams Family, lies a warm heart and someone who craves genuine relationships. She told Graham that she'd keep this knowledge to herself, but finds the entire thing quite 'sexy'. Graham smirked as Kim left. He can't have Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) anymore, but were tonight's scenes a sign that Graham might reunite with his other ex soon enough?
