The ten celebrities on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! faced a challenging first night in the Australian jungle, with model and presenter Kelly Brook being the first to vocalise her longing for a more luxurious lifestyle.
From Luxury to Jungle Life
Waking up in the camp on Monday's episode, the 45-year-old radio star was quick to acknowledge the stark contrast to her normal life. She admitted that the rustic conditions were a definite departure from what she was accustomed to. Despite feeling far removed from her usual glamorous routine, viewers watching at home were captivated by her appearance, taking to social media to express their amazement at how fresh-faced she looked after a night in the wild.
Fans flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to share their admiration. One viewer wrote, 'Kelly Brook still looks glamorous after one night in the jungle,' while another commented, 'Kelly Brook really does look better with age, doesn't she?' A third added, 'Kelly Brook is just as beautiful as she always has been. I have such a crush on her.'
Jungle Mishaps and Rescue Missions
The morning's amusement continued as Kelly's basic hygiene routine took an unexpected turn. While brushing her teeth, an insect landed on her hand, causing the former model to squeal in surprise. In her attempt to flick the bug away, her toothbrush went flying into the dense jungle undergrowth below.
Clearly concerned, Kelly exclaimed, 'I can't go three weeks without my toothbrush, my breath will stink.' Fortunately, fellow campmate Lisa Riley came to the rescue, bravely heading down into the bush to retrieve the lost item. Rapper Aitch was thoroughly impressed by this act, praising Lisa in the Bush Telegraph for breaking the rules to save the day, calling her a 'badman.'
Contrasting Fortunes in Camp
While Kelly dealt with toothbrush troubles, other campers had very different experiences. Comedian Eddie Kadi, 42, who had won a comfortable bed in a challenge on Sunday's show, slept soundly—completely unaware that a rat had crawled across him during the night. He woke up in high spirits, refreshed from his great sleep, which prompted a less-than-impressed response from Kelly.
Pointing out the disparity, she told him, 'Of course you did! You’re in paradise up there.' She then gestured to her own basic sleeping arrangement, remarking, 'Look at this! There’s not even a blanket in here.'
Elsewhere in the camp, Ruby decided to lead a guided group meditation session by the creek. Participants included Lisa, Shona, Jack, Kelly, and Alex. When Kelly asked how she learned to meditate, Ruby revealed she had earned a degree in neuroscience, mindfulness, and cognitive therapy from Oxford University a decade ago, adding that she felt 'really stupid as a kid' and found her fellow students to be 'snobby' at the time.
In a behind-the-scenes revelation, it's thought that the Loose Women star is receiving a fee of £80,000 for her appearance, significantly less than the previously speculated £300,000. Kelly reportedly made a U-turn on her decision to join the show after being persuaded by her husband, Jeremy Parisi. Back in 2018, she had firmly stated on her Heart radio show that she would never participate, listing eating eyeballs and sheep testicles as reasons, and claiming she wouldn't do it even to pay off a huge tax bill.
