Emmerdale fans are asking whether Vinny Dingle is leaving the ITV soap after Friday's episode saw him plead guilty over the car crash that killed Jimmy King and Dawn Taylor.
Vinny, played by Bradley Johnson, recently confessed to being responsible for the crash, in which Jimmy's car hit Joe Tate and Dawn's wedding. Jimmy died in the crash, while Dawn went into early labour and died after giving birth to a baby boy. Nicola King, devastated by Jimmy's death, reported Vinny to the police, and Friday's hearing saw him plead guilty.
Vinny faces Crown Court sentencing
Vinny later told his family the case is likely to go to the Crown Court, where sentencing will be decided. Kev Townsend commented that Vinny could be looking at a couple of years in prison.
With reports that Bradley Johnson is leaving the role he has played since 2019, soap watchers have been asking if Vinny is leaving Emmerdale. On Wednesday's This Morning, soap expert Sharon Marshall teased Vinny's exit, saying: "There are rumours that the actor Vinny is leaving. Not been confirmed."
Fans predict a dark ending
Sharon added: "It doesn't look good for him. I don't think he's gonna get his happily ever after and his marriage. Let's put it that way!"
In upcoming scenes, heartbroken Vinny is dumped by partner Lewis Barton, and his mother Mandy Dingle tries to comfort him. Later, a gutted Vinny seeks prison advice from Aaron Dingle and tells him his plan.
Soap watchers are convinced Vinny will end up dying either before or during prison. One person on X said: "Vinny has been charged with death by dangerous driving.. he won’t survive prison.. we will hear he’s been killed in prison.. #Emmerdale" Another fan put: "He’ll probably end up in the same prison as Tom!" A different viewer commented: "Will Vinny die from the result of his injuries by Billy before he goes to court! #Emmerdale."
