Filming of the I'm A Celebrity spin-off Wild Frontier was halted in Canada after a former crew member reportedly blocked a trial amid a pay dispute.
Blockade in the Pacific Ocean
The ex-employee allegedly anchored a boat underneath cranes in the Pacific Ocean, where celebrities were due to be plunged into the water. Producers reportedly sailed out to the individual and negotiated a deal to ensure filming could continue without further disruptions.
A source told The Sun: "It was all very embarrassing as the production bosses knew that the ex-crew member was on public property. They were forced to get a boat out to him and thrash out a deal to get on with filming the trial. Fortunately, the dispute was settled so the schedule was not delayed."
New format and rumoured line-up
Set in the wilderness of Canada, the series will feature celebrities competing in pairs alongside relatives, partners or friends. The line-up has not been confirmed, but Kate and Rio Ferdinand are rumoured to be taking part.
Venezuela Fury and her new husband Noah were initially thought to be on the show, but she reportedly dropped out after 72 hours due to illness. Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy have also been linked, as have ice-skating stars Christopher Dean and Karen Barber. Eternal singer Louise Redknapp is thought to join alongside her brother Joe Nurding, with influencers Paul Olima and Jeremy Lynch.
Live final and hosts
Viewers will cast the final vote in a live grand final broadcast from London. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly return as hosts. Ant said: "This brand new series is I'm A Celebrity… like you've never seen before. It's a brand new format with lots of twists and surprises."
Dec added: "We're also making sure to retain some of the elements that we know viewers love from the Australian series. Buckle up, it's going to be brilliant." The Mirror approached ITV for comment.
