Dramatic new arrivals Vogue Williams and Tom Read Wilson have sent shockwaves through the I'm A Celebrity camp, instantly creating friction with their fellow contestants by immediately taking control and assigning chores.
A Luxurious Arrival Sparks Resentment
The hit ITV reality show, fronted by Ant and Dec, saw its dynamics upended when the celebrities returned from a challenge to find their camp had been completely transformed. The comfortable beds belonging to Ginge, Jack, Aitch, and Eddie were removed and replaced with basic camp beds and hammocks.
The most dramatic change, however, was reserved for the newcomers. The Treehouse was upgraded into a luxurious retreat with plush beds, soft chairs, and even a tannoy system for communicating with the camp below. Two pristine thrones were also set up for the newly appointed Bush Explorers.
Vogue, 40, and Tom, 39, wasted no time settling into their new, opulent surroundings. Vogue was heard teasing Tom as they explored, telling him, “You’re posher than Spenny [Spencer Matthews], you’re the poshest person I’ve ever met!”
Campmates React to the New Hierarchy
The stark division in living standards did not go unnoticed by the rest of the camp, who were left fuming. Ruby confided in the Bush Telegraph, sensing a major shift, saying, “I think the dynamic is going to change now with the two chiefs here, I really do feel like it’s kind of Lord of the Flies, there’s two sides and we may annihilate each other, or we may fall in love.”
Jack also voiced his strong resistance to the new power dynamic, confiding in fellow campmates. He said, “I feel resistance to Vogue and Tom, I’m just kinda like, ‘Hey you don’t get to walk in halfway through the movie and decide to turn it off or change it…’”
The Chore List That Caused Outrage
The tension reached a boiling point when everyone gathered around the campfire and Vogue and Tom unveiled the new chore list they had created. The assignments immediately raised eyebrows among the established campmates.
The list assigned roles as follows:
- Kelly and Martin were made camp chefs, with the reasoning that Kelly looked a bit like Nigella Lawson.
- Ruby and Lisa were put in charge of washing up.
- Eddie and Ginge were given responsibility for the water supply.
- Alex and Aitch were tasked with collecting wood.
- Jack and Shona were assigned the least glamorous job in camp: dunny duty.
Before joining the jungle, Vogue Williams, a presenter, podcaster, and former reality star, admitted she was taking on the challenge to push herself out of her comfort zone after turning 40. Tom Read Wilson, best known for Celebs Go Dating, said his first thought about taking part was “abject terror,” but he follows a life rule to do things that scare him.
It appears their arrival has certainly instilled a different kind of fear among their new campmates, setting the stage for a potential power struggle in the days to come.
