The mother of YouTuber AngryGinge has shared her heartbreak after watching her son struggle with homesickness on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.
In emotional scenes broadcast on Monday night, the content creator, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was seen fighting back tears as he confessed to having a 's**t day' and missing his family terribly.
Mum's Heartbreak and Camp Comfort
Ahead of her arrival in Australia to see him, his mum Michelle revealed she broke down after seeing a clip of his distress on TikTok. 'My heart absolutely sank, I started crying,' she told The Sun. 'It was so hard to see, because I know Morgan is such a strong person, so he must have been struggling a lot. I just can't wait to give him the biggest hug.'
Meanwhile in the camp, Ginge was praised by viewers for his compassionate response when fellow campmate Jack Osbourne became emotional. Jack opened up about the previous day being difficult, marking four months since the death of his father, the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.
After Jack jokingly promised never to cry in front of him again, Ginge offered his simple yet powerful support, stating: 'It's alright mate, men cry too.' Reflecting later in the Bush Telegraph, Ginge explained he felt it was important for Jack to talk about his feelings for his own wellbeing.
From Down Days to Revealing Past Heartache
By Tuesday's episode, Ginge's mood had noticeably improved, and he confided in Ruby Wax about the brutal way an ex-girlfriend had ended their relationship. He recounted a huge romantic gesture involving rose petals and a teddy bear to make their relationship official, only for it to end via a text message while he was in the middle of a livestream.
Discussing his previous 'down day' with Wax, Ginge confirmed he was feeling much better. He elaborated on the unique challenge of the jungle, saying, 'I've gone ten days without seeing my mum for example but I've always been able to ring her and text her, so not being able to communicate at all, it all gets on top of you.'
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly on ITV1 and ITVX.
