In a clever move to shroud their star signings in secrecy, producers for ITV's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! have been operating with a system of cryptic codenames for the 2025 series, and the identities behind the aliases have now been reportedly uncovered.
The Secret Identities of the Campmates
YouTuber Angry Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was reportedly one of the most closely guarded secrets for the new series. The 24-year-old, who is believed to be one of the highest-paid stars with an alleged fee of around £100,000, was given the codename 'Spicy'. This moniker is said to be a playful nod to his fiery red hair and the fact that ginger is, of course, a spice. A source told The Sun: 'Ginge’s codename is particularly fitting — as he’s ITV’s secret ingredient to spice things up and bring in new viewers this year.'
Meanwhile, fellow campmate Kelly Brook was allegedly assigned the codename 'River'. This choice is a simple yet effective reference to the model's surname, as a 'brook' is another word for a small stream. For Martin Kemp, the 64-year-old star's codename was reportedly 'Barre'. This cleverly references the handrail used in ballet, a homophone for his first name, Martin.
New Arrivals and Camp Shake-ups
The revelation of the secret names comes as the camp saw a significant shake-up with the arrival of Vogue Williams and Tom Read Wilson as Bush Camp Chiefs during Thursday's episode. The duo were tasked with designating roles to the celebrities, leading to Kelly Brook and Martin Kemp being appointed as camp chefs.
Other assignments saw Ruby Wax and Lisa Riley on washing up duty, while Eddie Kadi and Angry Ginge were put in charge of water, and Aitch and Alex Scott were tasked with collecting wood. Williams and Wilson also selected four badge winners—Kelly, Lisa, Ginge, and Jack Osbourne—who were rewarded with a marshmallow and hot chocolate-filled campfire at Snake Rock.
Trials and Tribulations Continue
Not everyone was pleased with the new dynamic, however. Jack Osbourne expressed his resistance to the new chiefs, confiding in his campmates, 'I feel resistance to Vogue and Tom... I’m just kinda like, "Hey, you don’t get to walk in halfway through the movie and decide to turn it off or change it."'
The drama continued as hosts Ant and Dec returned to camp to announce the next participants for the Bushtucker Trial. The public voted for Alex Scott and Jack Osbourne to face the next challenge, ensuring the pressure remains high in the jungle.
This annual tradition of using codenames helps ITV keep its line-up a surprise until the official announcement, with each alias thoughtfully linked to a celebrity's job, name, or personality.
