The highly anticipated new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! launches on Sunday, plunging ten famous faces into a world of gruelling challenges and jungle terror from the very start.
Dramatic Arrivals and Terrifying Trials
Before even setting foot in the camp, a group of five celebrities received a heart-stopping introduction. Hosts Ant and Dec informed Kelly Brook, Aitch, Martin Kemp, Eddie Kadi, and Shona McGarty that there was only 'one way' to reach the ground: by skydiving from a helicopter. A first-look clip showed a visibly shocked Kelly Brook grappling with the revelation before she and the others were thrust into the challenge, with Aitch and Eddie being the first to drop from the chopper.
Meanwhile, the remaining five celebrities – Ruby Wax, Jack Osbourne, Lisa Riley, AngryGinge, and Alex Scott – were taken to a swanky villa. Their luxury was short-lived, as Ant and Dec immediately presented them with their first trial. Social media sensation AngryGinge, already tipped as a favourite to win, was seen shaking with terror as a box was placed over his head. He pleaded with the hosts to know what creature was joining him, only for a snake to be draped over his head.
The Race for a Glamorous Getaway
For the skydiving group, the challenge was far from over upon landing on the shoreline. Ant and Dec appeared with another curveball: a race against time to decide their fate. The prize was a luxurious entrance into the jungle, complete with the best beds, a steak supper, cocktails, and canapés. The alternative was the dreaded 'Cockie Van' with Kiosk Kev.
The stars took positions on a giant star-shaped rig and were forced to plunge into a foul mix of offal and slime. Their mission was to find five tools, each needed to release a separate bolt holding a key fob for a Getaway car. With the clock ticking, the tension soared as they scrambled to claim one of two coveted spots in the vehicle.
Back at the villa, the other five celebrities were in a similar high-stakes race. To secure the two remaining seats in the Getaway car, they had to hold their nerve as rangers dropped snakes into the head boxes they were wearing. The challenge tested their composure to the absolute limit.
A Stormy Welcome to the Jungle
Adding to the drama, the I'm A Celeb jungle was rocked by a huge thunderstorm, forcing the new campmates to endure a wet and miserable first night on Saturday. The group, including AngryGinge, rapper Aitch, 25, model and actress Kelly Brook, 45, and Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp, 63, faced hours of lightning and heavy rain.
This weather poses a significant problem for camp morale, as the site features a stream that can easily overflow. An insider revealed, 'The jungle camp cannot cope with this level of rain... it dampens the mood and ultimately ruins the show.' This follows the notoriously wet 2023 series, which saw Jamie Lynn Spears and Grace Dent walk out due to the relentless rain and low spirits.
While the forecast for this year promised more sunshine, the new intake of celebrities has been greeted with a dramatic and soggy start, setting the stage for a truly testing series. I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! begins on Sunday, November 16 at 9pm on ITV1, STV, and ITVX.
