Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) becomes public enemy number one once again in Hollyoaks next week when Leah Barnes (Charlotte Alex Riley) tumbles down the steps after a confrontation with her brother, who gets the blame. The incident leaves Leah unconscious at the bottom of the steps as Lucas abruptly flees the scene.
Lucas under suspicion again
It has been an eventful few weeks for Lucas since his return, from admitting to playing a role in the demise of Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) to being accused of dad Ste's (Kieron Richardson) disappearance. Along with James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) and Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), Lucas was a prime suspect in that mystery.
Fans will remember Lucas was jailed after taking Ste hostage following the discovery that his dad had an affair with his son's ex Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass). While he hasn't forgiven Ste for the betrayal, he is keen to turn over a new leaf – but it's hard when everyone thinks the worst of him.
Showdown leads to tragedy
When the village returns next week, the situation with Ste's disappearance has escalated, and James is adamant he's being framed. Leah, who has been supportive towards her former stepdad since his return from the 'dead', believes him and shares this with Lucas.
Later, they receive a visit from Misbah (Harvey Virdi), Imran (Ijaz Rana) and Gemma Johnson (Tisha Merry), who offer support. Imran comforts Leah while Gemma scowls at Lucas, furious over an unexpected secret they now share.
Leah overhears a conversation in which Lucas admits to being 'guilty' and is shaken to the core. Horrified, she orders her brother to stay away, but a scuffle ensues and she falls backwards down the steps, much to Lucas's horror as he watches on. Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) rushes out of Price Slice to see the commotion, horrified by the sight before her.
Lucas plans to flee
Much like with Ste, the finger is quickly pointed at Lucas, who flees when Frankie screams for help. Leah lies at the bottom of the steps unconscious, and whether she will be okay remains to be seen. Lucas isn't planning to hang around to be blamed for something he didn't do, so he begs Xander (Indigo Kamal-Poole) to help him get out of the village.
