Harry Styles' tickets for his New York concerts have been branded 'insane' after being released days before the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. This week will mark 25 years since 2,977 innocent people died.
The singer, 32, is currently performing at Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of his 30-night residency, which will wrap up on October 31. Tomorrow will mark 25 years since the tragic attacks on America, which saw al-Qaeda terrorists hijack several aircraft, on the orders of Osama bin Laden.
Ticket Design Sparks Criticism
Harry's tickets pay homage to New York, with a yellow car flying past the Empire State Building with a stream of smoke coming from the engine. While some people have praised the sweet nod to the city that never sleeps, others have criticised the design, given its proximity to the 9/11 anniversary.
One excited fan shared a picture of their ticket for night seven of Harry's residency, including the back design showing New York's waterfront, the yellow car and the Empire State Building alongside the caption: "Tonights ticket [sic]."
"OMG the cutest so far," said one fan. A second penned: "That's beautiful." "Wait, this is gorgeous," exclaimed a third. However, many took issue with the design.
Fan Reactions to 9/11 Proximity
"A little bold given its 9/11 week in NYC but the colours are cute," commented one. While a second went on to add: "Putting that on the back the week of 9/11 is f*****g insane. It's cute, but I fear that was not a good idea." "Genuinely who approved this for this week specifically?" asked another.
Another disgruntled fan penned: "All love to the artist of tonight's ticket, but respectfully, I do think it was the wrong week to hand those out."
Remembering the 9/11 Attacks
7,753 people died at the World Trade Centre and surrounding areas when two hijacked aircraft were flown directly into the Twin Towers. A further 184 people died at The Pentagon, when another hijacked aircraft was flown into the building.
Meanwhile, 40 passengers and crew died on United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania after passengers and crew fought against four al-Qaeda terrorists.
Tour Extension Announced
Hours after the singer faced criticism, he teased fans with news that he will be extending his residency tour. During leg one of his Together, Together, tour, Harry is performing only 67 concerts as part of residencies in Amsterdam, London, São Paulo, Mexico City, New York City, Melbourne, and Sydney.
But in the early hours of today, fans received an email confirming that he will once again be taking to the road in 2027. He told fans: "When we decided to do the 2026 tour I knew it would be special but what you turned it into was far beyond what I could have imagined.
"I love playing music, I love being with all of you and being a part of the love and joy you all create together every night." Harry continued: "That's why I wanted you to be the first to know we will be adding 2027 dates, which honestly, at first I found daunting. Being an artist is the only life I've ever known really, I have been doing this since I was 16 years old, and I feel like the luckiest person in the world to still be sharing these moments with you.
Tomorrow's announcement will be the final cities of Together, Together. After that, I don't know what comes next for me, but I know that I'm excited to find out."
