DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) risked her future for Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) in Emmerdale, and the copper has now made it clear that she's going to pay.
Earlier this week, Sarah learnt about Thea's friendship with Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy), and how the detective has known for ages what really happened to Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker). Sarah used this to her advantage and told Thea to get Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) out of prison, or she'd tell her bosses about how she has covered up the truth about the surgeon's death.
Thea covers up evidence
Thea had no choice but to do as Sarah asked. After tampering with some evidence, Ramsden told her boss DI Roberts (Isobel Middleton) that an interview file had become corrupted and was no longer able to be used.
Roberts was disappointed and told Thea that she isn't sure if the CPS will take the case seriously anymore. It was confirmed in today's episode of the ITV soap that the case against Charity wasn't strong enough, which meant she was allowed to go home.
Charity's return and Sarah's refusal
Charity made an effort to have a quiet conversation with Sarah about everything that's happened between them. Sadly, Sarah confirmed that she has no intention of forgiving Charity for the lies about baby Leyla, which devastated her.
Later that day, Thea visited the shop to issue a warning to Sarah. She made it clear that even though Charity is home, the situation isn't over.
A dark warning for Sarah
The detective told Sarah that in the future, there will come a point where she asks her to do something. Thea stated that no matter the cost, Sarah will say yes and do what she wants because she owes her now.
It was a very dark warning. What exactly will Sarah have to do for Thea?
