Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) faces a tense showdown with Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) after revealing he is not ready to propose to Lewis (Bradley Riches) in Emmerdale.
Kev has been encouraging Lewis's dream of a beach wedding in Bali, but Vinny is not on board. The couple have not even got engaged yet, and Vinny is struggling with his feelings about Kev, who reminds him of his own father—a pathological liar with a violent temper.
Kev's erratic behaviour causes concern
Kev has tried to redeem himself, but his actions keep causing problems. He stole Vinny's van for a nappy heist and confessed to hitting Billy with a crowbar, all in a misguided attempt to fund Lewis's wedding plans. Vinny is conflicted, seeing Kev's good intentions but disapproving of his methods.
Vinny confides in Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) that he wants to 'get it right', but there seems to be more behind his hesitation. Having only recently come out, he is still figuring out what he wants in life—and whether that includes marrying Lewis.
A cringe-worthy misunderstanding
Vinny tells Kev he is holding off on proposing, then panics when he thinks Kev has overheard a private conversation with Gabby. He pulls Kev aside and asks him to keep quiet, only to realise Kev likely had not heard anything—leaving Vinny exposed.
Kev reacts furiously to the revelation, and Vinny must find a way to rescue the situation. With Vinny's exit already confirmed, the question remains whether he will break Lewis's heart or flee before the wedding.
