Emmerdale is set for "life-changing" scenes this month, as Thea Ramsden's identity is finally revealed to her mother, Kim Tate. Soap boss Sophie Roper has also hinted that viewers will discover who Thea's father is.
As Halloween approaches, a showdown occurs, leading to Kim finding out that the daughter she placed for adoption in 1999 is now in the village, having tracked her down. Currently onscreen, Thea is continuing her plan against Kim, wanting revenge for being "abandoned". She arrived in the village along with her close pal and former colleague, Serena Sugden, in the summer.
Revenge plot spirals
Serena is now concerned that their plan to dig up dirt on Kim has gone too far. Thea's pursuit of revenge has seen her tormenting Kim, and things only get worse. According to Inside Soap magazine, the plot spirals and Thea's identity is revealed to Kim.
Producer Sophie Roper has promised plenty of questions will be answered, so it seems the identity of Thea's father will also come to light. Sophie told the publication: "We've seen that Thea is very much her mother's daughter."
Halloween peak teased
Sophie added: "So we're setting up that expectation for the viewers when these two women collide and the truth is revealed! Halloween will absolutely be a peak in that story, but their relationship is only going to get more complicated."
She continued: "We'll see Kim in a really different way, as we'll be exploring a part of her history which the audience really has no knowledge of. The audience has got so many questions right now! As the story evolves, we're absolutely going to be answering those and there'll be some surprises along the way as well."
Serena's fears grow
Spoilers for next week's episodes reveal Serena grows concerned about what her pal has planned. Serena senses the anger Thea is bottling up about Kim, and she fears she has dark intentions for her. Soon, Thea begins scheming and orchestrates an issue with the police.
Thea feigns support for Kim when she is stopped by police while driving. She lets her go, but she is actually getting close to her so she can take revenge. It emerges she has set the whole thing up, and she tells Serena she plans to get Kim to trust her before destroying her.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
