Emmerdale split 'sealed' as Joe Tate's revenge plot 'exposed'

Emmerdale's Joe Tate is set to intensify his revenge plot next week as he continues to seek vengeance for Dawn Taylor's death, with his latest scheme threatening to tear apart Caleb and Ruby Miligan's marriage.

In forthcoming episodes of the ITV soap, Joe (Ned Porteous) teams up with scheming Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) to take down the Miligans. Tempted by the money Joe is willing to spend on destroying his enemies, Sadie offers to carry out a plan that will split up childhood sweethearts Caleb (William Ash) and Ruby (Beth Cordingly).

Joe's revenge continues

The couple had tried to persuade Dawn (Olivia Bromley) not to marry Joe on her wedding day and planned her failed escape with Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle). Pregnant bride Dawn later died after the birth of her premature baby son, following Jimmy King's (Nick Miles) crash into the wedding marquee. Joe subsequently buried Ruby alive on the day of Dawn's funeral, before she was saved by Caleb and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).

Joe has now rejected his baby son, and his reign of terror is not over. Next week, he plans to take revenge on Caleb and Ruby once more, and in Graham's absence, he enlists Sadie, who plots to seduce Caleb.

Sadie's seduction plan

Initially, Joe asks Sadie to gather evidence against the Miligans so he can use it to destroy them. However, Joe wants to see his hated nemesis have the love of his life ripped away, so he agrees when Sadie suggests seduction is the way forward.

Long before Caleb and Ruby arrived in the village, the childhood sweethearts married in 1996 and share two children. Despite Caleb's affair with Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) and Ruby's betrayal with brother-in-law Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), the couple has stood the test of time.

Growing suspicions

Sadie has been growing closer to Ruby, and next week she encourages her to open up, revealing secrets. Sadie shares another sob story with Ruby, but Cain grows suspicious about Sadie deciding to stick around in the village. Cain warns his brother Caleb that Sadie will ruin his life, but Caleb is sure he's too smart for her.

Speaking about Joe and Sadie's latest plot, Emmerdale's producer Sophie Roper commented: "Sadie King is a force to be reckoned with, but Caleb and Ruby are one of Emmerdale's most powerful couples – they have been through so much together and have only got stronger."

"Joe recruiting Sadie does, however, create a dangerous dynamic, and viewers will hopefully be shouting at their screens to warn Caleb of the dangers that lie ahead."
