Emmerdale viewers believe they have identified the real culprit behind Jimmy King's fatal car crash — and it is not Gabby Thomas. The soap stalwart, played by Nick Miles, was killed off this week after his car ploughed into the wedding marquee of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
Jimmy was left trapped and badly injured in the collision. Although he initially appeared stable, his condition deteriorated rapidly, and he died with his wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) at his side. Moments later, the marquee erupted in a dramatic explosion.
Police examine the crash scene
In Friday's episode (August 28), Joe was revealed to have survived and was rushed to hospital, where Dawn went into labour early, according to the Daily Star. Nicola faced the heartbreaking task of telling her children about Jimmy's death.
DS Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) later told Kim Tate (Claire King) that Jimmy's car had swerved to avoid somebody. Shortly afterwards, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) was seen lurking nearby, looking distinctly guilt-ridden.
Fans point to Sadie King
While some viewers believe Gabby triggered the accident, others have 'figured out' that Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) may be implicated. One fan speculated on an Emmerdale Facebook page: "Gabby didn't cause it. I think she saw Sadie [King] trying to run Jimmy off the road. We know she's coming back."
Another replied: "I like this theory!" A third added: "Yeah it's a good way to bring Sadie back." A fourth chimed in: "I did wonder how she will return now Jimmy's died, that would make sense."
Producer teases Sadie's return
Executive producer Laura Shaw teased Sadie's comeback at a recent event, saying: "It's Sadie King. I feel like, of course she's got an agenda... What I can say is the reason that Sadie comes back and the secret she comes back with is gonna be absolutely shocking. And whether all is quite as it seems, we shall see as the story progresses, but it's gonna be pretty big and pretty shocking."
Shaw added: "We've definitely tried to bring Sadie back every bit in a dramatic way as she arrived last time. So, I think her arrival will be every bit as amazing and brilliant as the first time around. I think probably the most shocking thing is definitely the reason that brings her back. It's undoubtedly one of the biggest secrets we've ever had within the King family, and it's gonna be pretty explosive."
