Emmerdale viewers are convinced that Ruby and Caleb Miligan are about to get a major storyline after the couple appeared as the face of the soap on streaming service ITVX.
The pair have been dealing with Joe Tate for some time, but fans now believe something bigger is on the horizon after the ITVX cover changed for the soap preview.
Ruby and Caleb's recent troubles
Beth Cordingly made her Emmerdale debut as Ruby in January 2024, introduced as Caleb Miligan's wife. Caleb had joined the ITV soap two years earlier as Cain Dingle's long-lost brother.
Ruby arrived in the village as a fiery character, quick to put others in their place. However, things shifted as 2024 came to a close when her estranged father Anthony Fox arrived, along with Ruby and Caleb's daughter Steph Miligan.
Over recent months, the couple have had a difficult time, mostly at the hands of the villainous Joe Tate. He planned a kidnapping to steal Caleb's kidney, risking his life for his own.
Trauma and rivalry with Joe Tate
Since then, Caleb has been desperate to get involved and even helped Dawn escape Joe's clutches on their wedding day. The day turned into disaster as Dawn died later in hospital after giving birth to their son.
Joe has been grieving heavily since the loss and was determined to pin the blame on Caleb and Ruby. He asked Graham Foster to drug them before Joe buried Ruby alive on Home Farm.
Although she survived, Ruby is still traumatised from the harrowing events and begged Caleb to stop the rivalry with Joe before anything like that happens again.
Fans speculate on what's next
Now, fans are convinced they are going to be part of a big storyline as Ruby and Caleb are the face of Emmerdale's page on ITVX. Characters involved in huge storylines usually end up this way, including Kev Barton's return, Dawn and Joe's big wedding day and John Sugden's reign of terror.
Viewers have been trying to think what could be coming up for the fan favourite couple. On a Reddit thread, one viewer wrote: "Marriage troubles. Caleb cheating with Sadie and Ruby plotting revenge against them."
Another added: "I'd see it all revolving around Sadie, so Ruby investigating what Sadie is really up to and perhaps Caleb playing along with Sadie to see if he can get his hands on Jimmy's money or actually the cash he gave Jimmy."
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX and YouTube from 7am.
