Emmerdale viewers are convinced Vinny Dingle is heading for a tragic fate after Friday's court hearing, where he pleaded guilty to causing the car crash that killed Jimmy King and Dawn Taylor.
Vinny, played by Bradley Johnson, admitted responsibility for the accident that saw Jimmy's vehicle plough into Joe Tate and Dawn's wedding. The collision killed Jimmy, while Dawn went into premature labour and died after giving birth to her baby son.
Guilty plea and Crown Court warning
Nicola King, devastated by her husband Jimmy's death, reported Vinny to police. In Friday's episode, Vinny appeared in court and entered a guilty plea. He later told relatives the case will likely go to Crown Court, where sentencing will be decided. Kev Townsend suggested Vinny could face a couple of years behind bars.
With Bradley Johnson rumoured to be leaving the role he took on in 2019, fans are questioning whether Vinny is exiting the ITV soap.
Departure rumours and relationship heartbreak
Speaking on Wednesday's This Morning, soap specialist Sharon Marshall hinted at Vinny's departure. She said: "There are rumours that the actor Vinny is leaving. Not been confirmed." She added: "It doesn't look good for him. I don't think he's gonna get his happily ever after and his marriage. Let's put it that way!"
In upcoming scenes, a devastated Vinny is dumped by partner Lewis Barton, with his mother Mandy Dingle trying to console him. He then approaches Aaron Dingle for advice about prison and reveals his intentions.
Fan predictions of tragedy
Soap enthusiasts are convinced Vinny's story will end in tragedy before or during his time in prison. One viewer posted on X: "Vinny has been charged with death by dangerous driving.. he won't survive prison.. we will hear he's been killed in prison.. #Emmerdale" Another fan replied: "He'll probably end up in the same prison as Tom!" A separate viewer speculated: "Will Vinny die from the result of his injuries by Billy before he goes to court! #Emmerdale."
