Emmerdale viewers are convinced Graham Foster will adopt Joe Tate's newborn son after Joe announced his intention to put the baby up for adoption.
In recent scenes of the ITV soap, Joe has been spiralling since the death of his partner Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and has rejected their new baby son, who is yet to be named. Kim Tate (Claire King) and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) have been determined to change Joe's mind and encourage him to be a father.
But their pleas have been dismissed as Joe remained convinced that being a father to Baby Tate isn't something he can do alone. On Wednesday (September 30), Graham desperately tried to change Joe's mind and took a harder approach with Joe, whom he sees as a son.
Graham's desperate attempts
In a bid to play on Joe's emotions and love for Dawn, Graham played an old video of Dawn, who is seen rubbing her pregnancy bump and shares her joy over giving birth to Joe's baby.
After Joe declined to care about his son or show any emotion in response to Dawn's video clip, Graham took a different approach and told him, "Dawn deserved better than a spineless man." In return, Joe slapped Graham across the face.
Later, the two men headed to the hospital to check in on Baby Tate, and despite their earlier spat, Graham continued to show love and support for Joe and thought a breakthrough may be on the horizon.
Adoption announcement
However, it was another failed attempt as Joe was certain his son would have a better life with two new parents, and announced his son would be put up for adoption, leaving Graham infuriated.
Joe then ordered Graham to sort out Baby Tate's illegal adoption, including finding suitable families. Graham warned Joe that if he helped him, it would be the last thing he ever did for him.
Fan predictions
Following Graham's final words, Emmerdale fans are now convinced he will adopt Baby Tate, as he is in charge of finding the tot a new home.
Writing on Facebook, one viewer predicted: "Graham is only leaving for a short time; he doesn't take the baby to be adopted as Joe asked. He keeps him hoping Joe will realise that he's made a mistake, then Graham will come back to Emmerdale with the baby."
Taking to Reddit, another demanded: "Graham, please take the baby and find a Mrs. Graham and a nice cottage. And stick to your threat of it being the last task for Joe."
Another chimed in: "He's moving out of Home Farm with the baby, given Joseph doesn’t care about the baby, and that upsets", while fans echoed the sentiment and wrote: "I bet he's going to take the baby."
