Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out what Dawn Taylor will name her baby following the tragic death of Jimmy King.
Dawn (Olivia Bromley), who first appeared on the long-running ITV soap in 2018, has been at the centre of dramatic storylines since her arrival, from overcoming drug addiction to resorting to sex work. This week, her wedding day to fiancé Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) ended in disaster when she became caught up in a car crash.
Wedding day chaos
On their wedding day, Dawn initially fled with Billy Mayhew (Jay Kontzle) and their children, but after discovering Billy's deception, she returned to the village to marry Joe. However, as she arrived to find a heartbroken Joe at their wedding marquee, Jimmy King (Nick Miles) ploughed his car into the structure, leaving the trio fighting for their lives.
In Thursday's episode (August 27), Dawn regained consciousness and tended to Joe, who was pinned beneath debris. Jimmy's wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) then arrived and was devastated to discover Jimmy in the destroyed car.
Jimmy's final moments
Although Jimmy initially appeared alright, he deteriorated rapidly and passed away with Nicola beside him. The drama continued as petrol spilled near an exposed flame, prompting a trapped Joe to urge Dawn to escape before an explosion.
Dawn fled outside where fellow villagers had gathered, and as Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) prepared to rescue Joe, the wedding marquee erupted into flames.
Fans predict the name
The dramatic twist left many viewers stunned, with some certain Dawn would perish during the episode following reports that the actress was departing. Now that Dawn and her unborn child appear likely to survive, fans have shared their predictions online.
One person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page wrote: "If Dawn makes it out alive she'll call her baby Jimmy I'm sure of it." Another responded: "That would be sweet." A third added: "Or maybe Kim [Tate] if it's a girl?"
