Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out who really caused Jimmy King's fatal car crash, and it is not Gabby Thomas. The soap legend, played by Nick Miles, was killed off this week after crashing his car into the wedding marquee of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).
A bloodied and battered Jimmy was trapped inside his car and injured as a result of the crash. Although he seemed fine at first, Jimmy grew progressively worse. In heartbreaking scenes, Jimmy took his last breath and died with his wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) by his side. Shortly after, the marquee exploded.
Joe survives and Dawn gives birth early
In Friday's episode (August 28), it was revealed that Joe had managed to survive and was rushed off to hospital, where Dawn ended up giving birth months earlier than planned. Meanwhile, a bereft Nicola broke the news to her kids about Jimmy's passing.
Later on, DS Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) surveyed the scene and revealed to Kim Tate (Claire King) that Jimmy's car swerved to avoid someone. Moments later, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) was seen standing behind them, looking very guilty.
Fans point to Sadie King
While some fans think Gabby caused the accident, other viewers have 'worked out' Sadie King's (Patsy Kensit) involvement. "Gabby didn't cause it. I think she saw Sadie [King] trying to run Jimmy off the road. We know she's coming back," mused one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page. Someone else added: "I like this theory!"
A third chimed in: "Yeah it's a good way to bring Sadie back." Another also wrote: "I did wonder how she will return now Jimmy's died, that would make sense."
Boss teases shocking secret
Speaking to the press at a recent event, Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw teased Sadie's return. She said: "It's Sadie King. I feel like, of course she's got an agenda..."
"What I can say is the reason that Sadie comes back and the secret she comes back with is gonna be absolutely shocking. And whether all is quite as it seems, we shall see as the story progresses, but it's gonna be pretty big and pretty shocking."
Laura went on: "We've definitely tried to bring Sadie back every bit in a dramatic way as she arrived last time. So, I think her arrival will be every bit as amazing and brilliant as the first time around. I think probably the most shocking thing is definitely the reason that brings her back. It's undoubtedly one of the biggest secrets we've ever had within the King family, and it's gonna be pretty explosive."
Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
