Emmerdale fans are convinced that Vinny Dingle is not responsible for the fatal crash that killed Jimmy King and Dawn Fletcher, instead pointing the finger at Caleb Miligan. Vinny was arrested on Thursday (September 24) for causing the collision, but viewers believe faulty car parts sold by Caleb are the true cause.
Crash and Arrest
Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Dawn Fletcher (Olivier Bromley) died last month after Jimmy's vehicle crashed through a marquee where Dawn was due to wed Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). Dawn passed away in the hospital hours later, moments after giving birth to their child. Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) admitted to causing the crash, leading to his arrest and upcoming court proceedings.
On the day of Dawn's funeral, Joe came close to killing Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) by burying her alive, and he also accused Dawn's ex-husband, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), of playing a part in the incident. Vinny later confessed to his involvement at Home Farm, prompting Billy to assault him.
Fan Theories
Earlier this year, Caleb was shown selling dodgy products from his depot, including a puffer jacket that Jimmy purchased. Fans now predict that Jimmy bought counterfeit car parts from Caleb, which would explain his inability to brake before plowing into the marquee.
One fan posted on Facebook: "It will be dodgy brakes he had fitted that Caleb sold", while another concurred: "That's what I thought when it happened." Some viewers question Jimmy's reaction to the crash. One admitted: "I thought this all along, as we did not see Jimmy go swerving off into a field in Vinny's rear view mirror or any sign of the Marquee around that area." Another added: "I think he had a near miss with Vinny and something else caused him to career off the road into the Marquee, especially as he does not seem to apply any brakes."
