Love Island's Ellie Chadwick Reveals Friends' 'Choice Words' Over Finley
Ellie Chadwick: Friends Had 'Choice Words' About Finley

Love Island star Ellie Chadwick has revealed that her friends and family initially had strong reservations about her decision to leave the villa with Finley Maddock. Appearing on the latest episode of Love Island Aftersun, she confessed that there were 'a few choice words' thrown at her upon her exit.

Ellie's Decision to Leave the Villa

Ellie entered the villa on day one and quickly became a fan favourite, even being voted favourite girl. However, her journey took a turn when she formed a connection with bombshell Finley Maddock. After Finley was dumped from the island due to his controversial behaviour, Ellie chose to leave with him, ending her chance at the £50,000 prize fund.

When host Maya Jama asked why she walked away, Ellie explained: 'I went in for one thing and I found it so why would I stay there on my own?'

Friends and Family React

Maya then probed about what Ellie's friends thought of Finley. Ellie hesitated before admitting: 'Listen, yeah, when I came out there was a few choiceful [sic] words thrown at me about him but I've spoke them round so they're all good.' She added that after some conversations and a few karaoke nights, her friends have come around.

Ellie's parents also appeared on the show. Her father declared her decision to quit was 'spot on,' stating: 'She was true to herself.' When asked what they would have grilled Finley about during family and friends week, he joked: 'What the f***.' Her mother reassured viewers: 'It's all squashed we're all good, he's a lovely guy.'

No Regrets Over Prize Money

Many viewers were baffled by Ellie's choice to leave, believing she could have won the series. However, when Maya asked if she felt she had thrown away £25,000, Ellie revealed: 'I wasn't in it for the money, so I came in found what I wanted and I'm happy and that's it.'

Future Plans

Maya quizzed the couple about their future plans. They admitted they haven't had any alone time since leaving the villa. Finley joked that he would take Ellie on a first date to a McDonald's Drive Thru, a comment that fell flat with the studio audience.

Love Island airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
