EastEnders has provided an update on Tanya Branning, days after actress Jo Joyner was seen on the set of the BBC One soap. In yesterday's episode, it was revealed that Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), Peter Beale (Thomas Law) and their children were preparing to visit Tanya in Exeter.
Tanya was last seen dealing with the aftermath of the death of her daughter, Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald), which led to her being admitted to a psychiatric facility off-screen. She had since taken custody of Abi's daughter, AJ, after Max Branning (Jake Wood) left her unattended, and has remained off-screen.
Jo Joyner's Set Visit
Jo, who has not appeared in Albert Square for eight years, was working near the EastEnders set and popped over to catch up with her ex-husband, her daughter, her son, and the character who helped her bury her husband alive. She shared a picture on her story alongside Jake, Jacqueline Jossa, Rob Kazinsky and Pierre Counihan-Moullier, captioning it: 'When you're filming round the corner so you pop in to see the faaaaaamily, and finally meet your son!'.
Sean Slater's Return
Rob Kazinsky's appearance with the cast follows news that he has reprised his role as Sean Slater. Sean left the Square in a regular capacity in 2009 when he discovered that Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) was the biological father of Roxy's daughter Amy (Ellie Dadd). He has made guest appearances since, including a powerful week of episodes in 2019 and unannounced returns in 2021 and 2022.
This time, Sean will be staying for longer than one episode, marking the first time he will be permanently settled in Walford in 17 years.
